What data do we use, and why?

  • Orders and customer service: your name, contact details, billing and delivery addresses, selected products, order number, payment status and messages. We use this information to fulfil your order, arrange delivery and returns, and answer questions. The legal basis is performance of the contract or steps taken at your request before entering into it.
  • Administration: order, payment and invoice data for our accounting and legal obligations. The legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
  • Security: technical data, such as IP address, browser and device information, to operate and secure the shop and prevent misuse. Our legitimate interest is a safe, reliable online shop; we limit processing to what is necessary for that purpose.
  • Newsletters: your email address and subscription preferences when you sign up. The legal basis is consent. You can unsubscribe using the link in every newsletter or by emailing us.
  • Optional analytics and marketing: data about website visits and interactions, depending on your cookie choices. Consent is required for this. Visiting the website does not, in itself, constitute consent.

You provide data through an order, form or subscription. Technical data is generated when you use the website. Without the necessary order and address information, we cannot fulfil an order; consent to marketing is not required for this.

Who do we share data with?

We use Shopify for our online shop and order processing. Payment providers, carriers, suppliers, administrative service providers and customer communication services receive the data needed for their tasks. For products shipped directly by a supplier, we share the necessary order and delivery information with that supplier and, where applicable, through DSers and AliExpress. This may involve processing outside the European Economic Area, including in China and the United States.

Shopify's arrangements for international processing and the safeguards used, including European standard contractual clauses, are set out in its Data Processing Addendum. Please also read Shopify's privacy policy and DSers' privacy policy. You can ask us which recipients and transfer safeguards apply to your order. Where required by law, we share data with the competent authorities.

How long do we keep data?

We retain order and customer data for as long as necessary to fulfil the order and handle returns, warranties and any disputes. We keep invoice and administrative data for the applicable statutory retention periods. We retain messages for as long as the enquiry and any follow-up justify. We use newsletter data until you unsubscribe; a minimal unsubscribe record may remain necessary to respect your choice. Cookie duration depends on their function.

Necessary cookies support features such as the shopping basket, security and remembering your privacy choices. You can accept or refuse non-essential preference, analytics and marketing cookies. You can change your choice later through Cookie settings. If the preferences window does not work, please contact info@sesseq.com. You can also delete existing cookies through your browser.

An overview of Shopify cookies, their purposes and retention periods is available in Shopify's cookie policy. The cookies actually placed depend on the features used and your consent.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you can request access to, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and always to direct marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Email your request to info@sesseq.com. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity and will generally respond within one month. If a statutory extension is needed, we will let you know in good time. You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority or the competent supervisory authority in your country of residence.

Changes

This policy replaces Sesseq.'s previous privacy statements. When it changes, we update the date above and provide additional notice where necessary.
